Thoughts on Popular Culture
Now in the final turn of my painfully long academic "career," (insert laugh) I am really enjoying an elective I'm taking called, Popular Culture in the Twentieth Century. My first assumptions towards this course were that we'd be discussing the life and times of Justin Bieber but fortunately, I was wrong. My prof is staggeringly adept in making his students think and to consider the path our consumer society is taking. I've had my fair share of engaging and depressing professors over the years but I have to say, it's been refreshing learning from someone genuinely passionate and concerned with what is being taught. The world needs people who care. Critical thinking is absolutely necessary in this generation and I'm so grateful for profs who set the example.
The above photos are of my sister, Dalyce, from around Christmas time. She doesn't usually have straight hair but I think it looked great on this occasion!
