It's Always Like Spring Time With You

Well, I'm starting to dream of Spring! I'm just not a winter person...at all! School is well underway and life keeps ticking along I suppose. Unfortunately I may be away from my blog for some time - I hope to get things going again as soon as possible.

Today I just wanted to share how much I appreciate Elmvale Community Church. Although it's a bit of a trek from Barrie each Sunday, the drive there is beautiful and to be honest, so is the congregation. More than anything, I see ECC as a body that knows how to love and support one another. Free of hierarchy or the cool and uncool crowd, the church is simply healthy in my opinion. Being the church doesn't require massive buildings and flashy events. Show me a church that operates as a family (like ECC) and I'll show you a church with a solid foundation. So thank you ECC, for your example...and for giving me a place to play and sing! Also, thank you Pastor Steve (Weenink), for your challenging and highly relevant teaching. Very refreshing!

I believe God is concerned with our hearts above everything. He concerns Himself with our pain and happiness, never shying away from a difficult situation. Maybe that's why God created us to fall in love (as they say). Loving someone intimately involves knowing and nurturing that person's heart, right? I love God's continual hints and reminders of Himself...almost like a picture that never appears the same way twice. Never forcing or aggressive, I believe He sees and values the things you wish other people would see. Messy and unstable, the human heart is a beautiful thing, something of potential that is ever-changing and ever-seeking.

Below is a song called, "This is What You Do." We sang it together at church today and it was just so fitting. God works to revive hearts, breathing life into our feelings of emptiness. At the very least, this song reminds me that Spring is just around the corner!
