Terminal Love

It's amazing what you'll encounter at an airport in the middle of the night:

I've recently begun working part time driving scheduled passengers to and from Pearson Airport - it's an interesting job to say the least - and I'm enjoying it.

Before leaving the terminal tonight, my two passengers (a mother and daughter) said goodbye as dad  stayed behind at the airport. Driving north into a beautiful sunrise, I couldn't help but admire this man's love for his family. Who knows how long he'd be apart from them. Who knows the story that led them to the airport that night. Either way, this man embraced his wife and daughter, hugging and kissing them goodbye as if it were their last moment together. That's love. That's the stuff that smashes away my pessimism. (at least temporarily!)

All this to say, perspective finds us in the strangest times and places. Just when we think we can predict the ending, we discover life found in the moments.
